Events at 't Valleike

't Valleike is a petting zoo in De Reeshof in Tilburg where various, also exotic, animals can be seen together with nature education. Together with the petting zoo, the Herpetofauna Foundation organizes various annual events.

Halloween

In October we are having a Halloween event in which 't Valleike will be transformed into a spooky place, but with various activities and games and an educational character. For example, children can do all kinds of craft activities. As a foundation, we are present to show that reptiles, which are sometimes seen as scary, are actually not scary at all. Visitors can come face to face with live snakes and a tarantula and feel them on their hand. We use these animals as ambassadors for the endangered species in nature. They support our story of why it is so important to protect reptiles, amphibians and their habitats and illustrate the projects we support. The proceeds of this event will be divided equally between the petting zoo and a charity selected by the foundation.

Toy Fair

At the Toy Fair at ‘t Valleike people can hand in their second-hand toys that are sold and thus provide fun for other children. The event originated from the idea of sustainability and recycling. The proceeds of the toys are largely for the people who have also handed them in, a percentage goes to the petting zoo and the Herpetofauna Foundation. The Herpetofauna Foundation supports this.

Sinterklaas party

Sinterklaas also visits ‘t Valleike several times during his stay in the Netherlands. Families can sign up for a festive afternoon with Sinterklaas and his friends, where a snack is also served. There is singing, dancing, all kinds of sweets and of course there are presents. The proceeds of this event will be divided equally between the petting zoo and a charity selected by the foundation. The Herpetofauna Foundation supports this.
